YouTube has released statistics that say that 35 hours worth of video is being uploaded to the site every minute, up to 24 hours per minute during the month of March.
Director of management at YouTube, that is Google owned, Hunter Walk said that the number of videos being uploaded has doubled in the past two years.
If taken the rate per minute of videos being uploaded, that adds up to 50,400 hours of video per day.
In his blog post, Walk wrote, “Another way to think about it is: if three of the major US networks were broadcasting 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year for the last 60 years, they still wouldn’t have broadcast as much content as is uploaded to YouTube every 30 days.”
Walk has said a number of aspects have allowed for this significance increase of video sharing including allowing the video to be up to 15 minutes long and allowing an increase in file size.
